Energiekontor sells Waldfeucht wind farm

Bremen, 1st October 2019. Energiekontor AG has sold the Waldfeucht wind farm to the Hamburg-based CEE Group. The Waldfeucht wind farm is located in North Rhine-Westphalia west of Heinsberg not far from the border with the Netherlands. There, three Nordex wind turbines with a hub height of 125 m and a capacity of 4.5 MW each will generate an expected annual yield of around 35 million kilowatt hours. This amount of electricity is mathematically sufficient to cover the needs of more than 8,500 households.

Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG, is satisfied: “The sales process of the Waldfeucht wind farm went according to plan and represents an important contribution to the 2019 annual result. With the CEE Group we have found an investor who shares our passion for renewable energies and with whom we can very well imagine a trusting cooperation also for future projects.”

“We are delighted with the acquisition of Waldfeucht wind farm, our first joint project with Energiekontor. We believe that this transaction provides a strong foundation for a long-lasting cooperative and successful relationship”, said Detlef Schreiber, CEO of CEE Group. Jens Schnoor, Investment Director of CEE, added: “The development of Waldfeucht wind farm and the negotiations with our partners at Energiekontor have been characterized by mutual trust and loyalty throughout the process.”

The purchase price was not disclosed. Debt financing was provided by DKB Deutsche Kreditbank AG, with whom Energiekontor and CEE have worked with on a number of transactions.

About Energiekontor AG:
A solid business policy and a lot of experience in wind power: Energiekontor has stood for this for almost 30 years. Founded in 1990 in Bremerhaven, the company is one of the pioneers in the industry and is today one of the leading German project developers. The core business ranges from planning and construction to the management of wind farms in Germany and abroad and was expanded in 2010 to include solar energy. In addition, Energiekontor operates wind and solar parks with a rated output of almost 287 megawatts in its own portfolio. Energiekontor AG also wants to take on a pioneering role in economic terms and implement the first wind and solar parks at market prices in all target markets as quickly as possible, independent of government subsidies.

In addition to its headquarters in Bremen, Energiekontor has offices in Bremerhaven, Hagen im Bremischen, Aachen, Bernau near Berlin and Potsdam. It also has offices in England (Leeds), Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow), Portugal (Lisbon), USA (Austin/Texas and Rapid City/South Dakota) and France (Toulouse, Rouen).

The proud balance since the company was founded: 122 wind parks and seven solar parks with a total output of almost 1 gigawatt. This corresponds to an investment volume of more than EUR 1.6 billion.

The company went public on 25th May 2000. The shares of Energiekontor AG (WKN 531350 / ISIN DE0005313506) are listed in the General Standard of Deutsche Börse in Frankfurt and can be traded on all German stock exchanges.
