CEE Group Completes Acquisition of Two Wind Farms From DunoAir

CEE Group, the Hamburg-based renewable asset manager and DunoAir, an experienced wind energy project development company based in The Netherlands, announced today that that CEE has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of two wind farms in Hesse (Hessen) and Rhineland-Palatinate (Rheinland-Pfalz) in Germany from DunoAir. The acquisition increases the rated capacity of its wind portfolio to 370 megawatts (MW).

The wind farm in Kuhbett, Hesse, consists of four Enercon E‑115 turbines and has a total capacity of 12 MW.  Kappel-Faas wind farm in the Rhineland-Palatinate consists of two E‑82 E2 turbines (2.3 MW each).  CEE Operations GmbH will be responsible for the commercial management of both assets, while DunoAir Windpark Management B.V. will oversee the technical operations of the wind farms which in 2018 produced approximately 35 million kWh of clean electricity.

“We are delighted to have successfully completed the acquisition of Kuhbett and Kappel-Faas wind farms which is in line with CEE’s strategic objective of concentrating on our core business in Germany and France.” said Detlef Schreiber, CEO of CEE Group. “Looking ahead, we will continue to work with partners as we implement our growth strategy which includes expanding into new continental European markets” he added.

Arjen C.F. Ploeg, CEO of DunoAir, commented: “We are pleased with the sale of Kuhbett and Kappel-Faas wind farms to CEE Group which represents our first transaction together. We look forward to working together going forward as we continue to provide technical operation services to these wind farms.”

The renewable power production of the two wind farms means that more than 26,000 tons of CO2 emissions can be saved annually. In total, CEE’s renewable assets will generate approximately 1 million megawatt hours (MWh) in 2019 providing some 250,000 four person households with power from renewable sources.

With its small, but highly effective, team, DunoAir has expanded its investment portfolio to nearly 90 wind turbines with a total capacity of 220 MW. During this period, about EUR 500 million has been invested in the projects. A further 250 MW of capacity is are currently in the pipeline of Enercon premier customer.
